STEP 1
MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE AUSTIN FIRE DEPARTMENT'S ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES ("ADMIN") AT (512) 974 - 4100.
They will provide you with the appropriate paperwork that needs to be completed including:

  • Resignation Form (For purposes of retirement)
  • Final Check
  • TCFP Form
  • Exit Interview Form

Your termination date or last active day can be determined after meeting with "admin" and that information will be forwarded to the pension office.

STEP 2
MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH HUMAN RESOURCES TO ENROLL IN CITY OF AUSTIN MEDICAL, DENTAL OR VISION INSURANCE AT (512) 974-3284.

STEP 3
MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH BILL STEFKA BY CALLING (512) 454 – 9567 or E-MAIL AT LINDA@AFRS.ORG.

The following information will be necessary when applying for retirement:

  • Copy of Driver’s License
  • Copy of Marriage License - If Applicable
  • Voided Check to enroll in Direct Deposit
  • Contact Information – Phone Number and Address
  • Guide to Choosing a Retirement Option

The following forms will need to be completed and brought with you to your scheduled appointment (Just click on name of form to complete and print): **

** If you do not have access to a printer the above forms may be completed at the pension office at your scheduled appointment with the exception of the City of Austin Insurance Form.
