Re:        Retiree Banquet/Benevolent Fund/General Update

Dear Retirees:

Since our last update as of December 2009 we have lost the following firefighters or widows:

Name Date Deceased Benevolent Fund? Spouse/Or Survivor?
Charles Perkins 2/2/10 Yes Mary Louise
William McDonald 4/15/10 Yes Beth

Please contact Eric Pederson with the benevolent fund at 922-4332 with any questions you have regarding payments to the benevolent fund. The automatic monthly deduction of $3.00 is now available for those interested as we have many retired benevolent fund members using this. Eric can sign you up for that as well.

It's time to mark your calendars for the 2010 Retirement BBQ to be held May 11, 2010 at 6:00 PM! This year the BBQ will be held at a new location. It will be at the VFW #8787 Building. They are located at 500 VFW Road which is off the I-35 frontage rd. between Braker and Yager Lanes off exit 243. Directions: From the South: off I-35 take exit 243, stay on frontage road through the light at Braker Ln., then turn right on VFW Road. From the North: off I-35 take exit 243, turn left on Braker Ln., turn left on the frontage road, then turn right on VFW Road. ARFFA (The Austin Retired Fire Fighters Association) will have a booth and banner there to have a chance to visit with everyone. A flyer is attached outlining the program and our 2009 retirees to be honored at the event.

We hope you are all doing well and we hope to see many of you at the BBQ! Anyone interested in a ride to the BBQ can call the number on the attached flyer. If you have any questions, please contact our office.
